Director of Psychological Services
George Collins is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and served as the Director of Psychological Services at a residential rehabilitation and a behavioral health inpatient facility for the past nine years before arriving at Malvern in February 2020. Prior to 2011, George directed outpatient, School Based Behavioral Health, and Extended Assessment programs in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties, and provided a broad range of psychological services to children, adolescents, adults, and elders, including individual and group psychotherapy, psychological testing, and consultation, in group private practice and in community-based settings. He completed his predoctoral internship rotation in 2004 under Dr. Michael Salazar at KeyStone Center.
George graduated from Widener University with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Masters in Business Administration, specializing in Health and Medical Services Administration. His areas of professional interest and current practices include direct care to people with co-occurring disorders, supervision and training of psychology graduate students, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and application of effective short-term therapies for people recovering from co-occurring disorders.
