Update on PA Human Services Committee Meeting
On 2/12/13, the PA House Human Services Committee met to consider two bills:
- HB 315 (DiGirolamo, R-Bucks), restoring the 10% cuts in funding to Human Services that occurred in state fiscal year 2012-13, including restoration to the two addiction treatment services lines – Act 152 and Behavioral Health Services.
- HB 317 (DiGirolamo, R-Bucks), establishing a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program to reduce diversion, assist physicians and provide referral to addiction treatment where appropriate.
After discussion, both bills were reported out of the Committee. HB 315 passed by a vote of 20-4 and HB 317 passed by a vote of 19-5.
