Medical Director of the King Road Campus
Dr. Huma Mahmood joined Malvern Health in December 2019 as Staff Psychiatrist. Dr. Mahmood is Double Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and is a clinically trained Addictions Specialist. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Mahmood worked at The Horsham Clinic as an Adolescent Psychiatrist and headed one of the Dual Diagnosis Units. Dr. Mahmood also has a mental health private outpatient practice in Narberth, PA which was voted as the Top Outpatient facility in 2018 by Philly Magazine. In 2018, Dr. Mahmood became the Medical Director of Supreme Wellness Recovery, two Intensive Outpatient Dual Diagnosis clinics located in Newtown, PA and Plymouth Meeting, PA. In 2019, Dr. Mahmood was hired at Malvern as the Medical Director of the King Road campus.
Dr. Mahmood comes from a family of physicians and understands the importance of practicing effective patient care in a compassionate way. She is well-respected by patients and colleagues alike and in 2018 was recognized as a Top 100 Doctors in America by Doctors’ Choice Awards.
Dr. Mahmood graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University in Medford, MA with a major in Child Development and Pre-Med. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ-SOM. Dr. Mahmood completed her adult Psychiatry residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA and went onto serve as Chief Resident at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she completed her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
